Overview

Learning philosophy with questions taken from everyday life

Book Intro

Puberty Philosophy Journey

- Philosophy Stories For Teens

What is happiness? This engaging book is a general humanities book that explores philosophy through questions rooted in everyday life. The author poses a variety of philosophical questions based on the daily experiences of teenagers and explains related philosophical theories.

Philosophy is not merely information or knowledge to be memorized; it is a process of asking and answering questions about the nature and meaning of life. In this sense, all humans have the potential to be philosophers. As teenagers strive to uncover the true meaning of life, they will understand what philosophy is and what it means to live a life steeped in philosophical practice. Ultimately, this journey will empower them to lead more meaningful and valuable lives.

About the Author

Yoo Sungoh

(English) After graduating from Duksoo Commercial High School, Yoo Sungoh studied philosophy at Yonsei University before taking a graduate-level course in counselor education at Sookmyung Women’s University, Graduate School of Education. He taught ethics, ideas and philosophy in high school for 27 years and authored books including How Much More Must I Cry Since I Am Not Lonely Even When I Am Alone (poetry collection), You Have to Change to Change, and Understand the Child’s Psychology of Studying.

This is the conclusion I reached after studying philosophy:  philosophy is the various lenses through which we view the world. All humans encounter the questions, “Where did I come from? What do I do? Where am I headed?” like a rite of passage. This book is a study into the lenses used to address what it is to be human.
