(English) Companion Humanities Series: Love: The Rediscovery of Life

The utility of the humanities ultimately lies in the interest in myself and the discovery of what I am. The humanities also provide the fundamental power to live a mature life on my own. As such, the 〈Companion Humanities〉 series provides reasons for ‘search toward me’ and ‘questions I need now’.

Literary critic Professor Lim Ji-yeon provides insight into love through various literary works and movies. Humans constantly love and listen to love stories, but when love comes to them, it is very hard and difficult. To trace the reason, the author introduces the history of love between the West and Korea, pointing out that the history of love we now define is not so long ago. Love has shown different aspects in each era, so there is no need to use learned conventional love as a standard. Through love, we get to know ourselves in that we didn't realize, accept the love of the other person, look back on who we are, and discover life anew. Love, too, says the author, must be constantly reinvented to fit our lives and minds."

人文学的效用最终存在于对我的关心和对我的发现上。 另外，人文学还提供了自己过上成熟生活的根本力量。 《背叛人文学》系列就这样对"我"的探索,提供了现在我所需要的提问和围绕这个问题的理由。

文学评论家林智妍教授将结合多种文学作品和电影等,对爱情进行洞察爱情。 我们不断地相爱，倾听爱情故事，但爱情却非常艰难和艰难。 为了追踪其原因,作者介绍了西欧和韩国的爱情历史,并指出我们现在的爱情历史并不长久。 也就是说,爱情在每个时代都表现出不同的面貌,因此没有必要以学习的传统爱情为标准。 通过爱情,我们知道了自己不知道的样子,接受了对方的爱,回顾了自己是什么样的人,重新发现了人生。 作者说，爱情也应该根据我们的生活和精神不断重新发明。

문학평론가 임지연 교수가 다양한 문학 작품과 영화 등을 곁들여 사랑에 관해 통찰한다. 우리는 끊임없이 사랑을 하고 사랑 이야기에 귀 기울이지만 막상 사랑은 너무 어렵고 힘들다. 그 이유를 추적하기 위해 저자는 서구와 한국의 사랑의 역사를 소개하며 지금 우리가 하는 사랑의 역사가 그리 오래되지 않았음을 지적한다. 사랑은 시대마다 다른 모습을 보여 왔기에 학습된 통념적인 사랑을 기준으로 삼을 필요가 없다는 것이다. 사랑을 통해 우리는 자신의 몰랐던 모습을 알게 되고 상대의 사랑을 받아들이며 내가 어떤 사람인지 돌아보고 삶을 새로이 발견하게 된다. 사랑 또한 우리의 삶과 정신에 맞추어 끊임없이 재발명되어야 한다고 저자는 말한다.
