This book tells the story of three siblings, with an average age of 49, who reunite under their mother's wings after 20 years as they fail to form a new family.
The story begins with a man in his 50s who is saved by his mother after wallowing for a decade as a playboy on Chungmu-ro following the failure of his debut feature film. Unable to revitalize his life, he jumps back into his mother's arms. Much to his surprise, the man finds at his mother's home his older brother, who has become a jobless bum after blowing his deceased father's life insurance benefits on a failed business. He also finds his younger sister accompanied by her daughter, who has recently been divorced by her second husband after being unfaithful. He is deeply saddened to discover that not one member of the family is doing well. Then, one day, the man discovers hidden truths about his family: His brother is his half-brother and has a different mother, and his sister is his half-sister and has a different father.
