- Book Intro

Hada has earned herself a nickname she loves. It's none other than "Cap," short for capsaicin, the ingredient found in chili peppers that gives them their heat and a spicy edge. Her classmates have started calling her Cap ever since they saw how great she is at eating the hottest foods. When her friends say, "Cap Hada!" Hada feels proud, almost as if she were being hailed as a captain of her class. Her classmates encourage her to try their neighborhood's infamous "Heaven's Door Pork Cutlet," but one whiff of the dish and it's enough for Hada to know that if she were to taste it, the pork cutlet could very well take her to heaven's door. Should she still try it?
Three episodes that describe the life of Hada and her classmates, who are now in their second term of second grade, comprise this book.

Kim, Da-No
"I think being nine years old is rather fascinating. It's right before your age turns into two digits. I'm often saddened because my childhood memories get fuzzier as I age. Being a children's book author helps me reconstruct my past memories that I wish to cherish." The author made her debut into the scene in 2019 through Munhwa Daily's Spring Literature Contest. She won the Grand Prix from the first Nadaum Children's Book Festival. Her works include 『Afterwards, Mom』and 『Secret Wish』.
Hong Gurim
When I was first introduced to Hada, I was reminded of myself when I was 9 years old. I wish I could go back to those days when I could laugh and cry as much as I pleased. I studied animation in university and have been illustrating ever since, as my name suggests. ("Gurim" means "drawing" in Korean.) Some of my illustrations can be found in The Pony and Me, Sleepless Nights, which I wrote and illustrated, as well as Yoyo the Baby Raccoon, Violin Ghost, A Master of Short Verse, and 9-Year-Old Hada.
