I’ve Grown Up This Much, full of freshness, captures the appearance of a child whose body and heart have grown as fast as new creatures wriggling outward in spring. The child gets dressed to go outside. The yellow dress she had worn last year is now tight for her. The child is tall enough to reach the doorknob. She goes out to the garden to say hello to her spring friends. She says hello to the sprouts, to the dandelions, the butterflies, and the blue sky. She measures her height side by side with the plants in the pots and feels proud of how she has grown, saying, “I’m the tallest!” How lovely she is.
