Kim Cho-yeop et Kim Won-young, qui ont rencontré des machines (appareils auditifs et fauteuils roulants) qui compensent les dommages subis par le corps vers l'âge de 15 ans, se sont intéressés à la scène où le corps humain et la science et la technologie se rencontrent. Sur la base du temps passé à vivre avec une déficience auditive (Kim Cho-yeop) et de la perception de l'identité élevée dans la berceuse du mouvement de défense des droits des personnes handicapées, ils présentent un avenir différent auquel nous pouvons faire face lorsque nous combinons la science et la technologie dans les relations avec les autres, l'environnement et la société. Les deux dépeignent un avenir dans lequel les différents membres du monde se redécouvriront et s'accueilleront mutuellement en poussant loin et profondément leur sens du problème.
(English) Becoming a Cyborg
Kim Cho Yeop and Kim Won Young have lived as ‘cyborgs’ with devices (hearing aid and wheel chair) to complete physical damages at the age of 15. They all have been interested in the field where human body is combined with scientific technology. Both characters share the common issue that today’s scientific technology is advanced without considering specific experiences of individuals with diverse bodies and senses. Kim Cho Yeop has hearing disorder and Kim Won Young is physically disabled person respectively. They both have lived with their own diabilities so far and kept their identities nurtured in the range of the disabled rights movement. Based on their common knowledge, they present different future we will face with if we connect disability with scientific technology in terms of human relationship, environment, and social relationship.

Kim Cho-yeop dan Kim Won-young, yang hidup sebagai 'cyborg' setelah bertemu dengan alat (alat bantu dengar dan kursi roda) yang membantu menopang cacat tubuh mereka sejak sekitar usia 15 tahun, selalu tertarik pada bidang pengetahuan di mana tubuh manusia dan sains juga teknologi saling berkaitan. Keduanya gemar berdiskusi mengenai apakah ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi saat ini maju tanpa mempertimbangkan pengalaman spesifik individu dengan berbagai tubuh dan indera. Berbekal pengalaman mereka dengan gangguan pendengaran (Kim Cho-yeop) dan cacat fisik (Kim Won-young), juga pengakuan atas identitas yang mereka suarakan tentang hak-hak disabilitas, mereka memiliki pengalaman unik tentang disabilitas dalam hubungannya dengan orang lain, lingkungan, dan masyarakat. Pengalaman mereka menunjukkan bahwa kita bisa menghadapi hari esok dengan lebih baik jika memadukan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Kedua orang ini berusaha mengesampingkan masalah mereka dan lebih fokus ke masa depan yang lebih baik untuk mereka dan orang lain di dunia ini.

Kim Cho Yeop
(English) Born in the February of 1993, Kim ChoYeop is a Korean novelist. She has majored in chemistry and earned a master's degree in biochemistry at Pohang University of Science. She mostly writes science fictions. She made her literary debut by winning the grand prize for the second Korean Science and Literature Awards with Irretrievable and If We Can't Go at the Speed of Light, with which she won won the 43rd Today's Writer Award in 2019, as well. As of June 2021, more than 200,000 copies of this book were sold, making her a best-selling author with the very first publishing experience.
In 2020, she won the 11th Young Writer Award with Cognitive Space, which was published in an SF literary magazine, or bookazine, Today's SF.
(French) Kim Cho-Yeop est écrivaine sud-coréenne, titulaire d’une licence en chimie et d’un master en biochimie de l’Université des sciences et technologies de Pohang. En général, elle écrit de la science-fiction.
En 2017, elle a remporté à la fois le Grand Prix littéraire de la SF coréenne dans la catégorie “romans court et nouvelles” et la mention honnorable avec ses œuvres intitulées Mémoire cachée et Si nous pouvions pas aller à la vitesse de la lumière. En 2019, la romancière est devenue 43e lauréate du prix de nouvel esprit littéraire avec son roman Si nous pouvions pas aller à la vitesse de la lumière. En particulier, son nombre d’exemplaires vendus a atteint 200 000. Avec un tel succès, la romancière est devenue l’auteure de best-sellers grâce à son premier recueil de nouvelles. En 2020, elle a reçu le Prix du jeune écrivain pour sa nouvelle intitulé Espace cognitif publiée sur La Science-Fiction d’aujourd’hui, le magazine de la SF.
(Indonesian) Seorang novelis, lahir pada tahun 1993. Ia mengambil jurusan ilmu kimia dan memperoleh gelar master dalam bidang biokimia di POSTECH. Ia lebih menikmati perjalanan waktu atau membayangkan hal-hal baru di depan monitor daripada belajar. Pada tahun 2017, Ia mulai aktif berkarya setelah memenangkan penghargaan utama dan runner-up dari Penghargaan Sains dan Sastra Korea ke-2 untuk 「Kehilangan di Dalam Gedung」 dan 「Jika Kita Tidak Bisa Pergi dengan Kecepatan Cahaya」.
Kim Won Young
(English) Won Young Kim (M) is in wheelchairs with osteogenesis imperfecta. He is currently a lawyer in Seoul. Until fifteen, he lived only in hospitals and at home. After graduating from elementary school with his GED, he went through middle and high school, and majored in Social Studies at Seoul National University.
After graduation from Law School of Seoul National University, he worked for the Naional Human Rights Commission of Korea. Meanwhile, he participated in the Theater Zit as an actor. His performance includes a monologue play in 2019. Books written by Kim include A Plea for Disqualified Persons and Humanities (co-author). He also writes for news magazines such as the Hankyoreh, Sisa In, and Beminor.
(French) Il se déplace en fauteuil roulant en raison d'un dysfonctionnement ostéoplastique. Après avoir terminé ses études primaires avec l'examen de qualification, il a obtenu le diplôme du département de sociologie de l'université nationale de Séoul en passant par le collège et le lycée général des écoles spéciales pour personnes handicapées. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de la faculté de droit de l'université nationale de Séoul, il a travaillé à la Commission nationale des droits de l'homme de Corée, et a travaillé comme acteur de théâtre dans le cadre de l'"Acte de l'Institut pour la culture et les arts handicapés". Il est actuellement avocat à Séoul.
(Japanese) 骨形成不全症で車椅子に乗る。15才まで病院と家だけの生活をした。検定試験で小学校を卒業し、障碍者のための特殊学校の中学校と一般高校を経てソウル大学社会学科を卒業した。ソウル大学ロースクールを卒業し、国家人権委員会に努め、‘障害文化芸術研究所 ジッ’で演劇俳優として活躍したこともある。現在ソウルで弁護士として活動している。
(Indonesian) Akibat disostosis yang dialaminya, Ia selalu duduk di kursi roda. Setelah menyelesaikan pendidikan Sekolah Dasar melalui ujian kualifikasi GED, Ia menyelesaikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama dan Sekolah Menengah Atas khusus penyandang cacat hingga lulus dari Fakultas Ilmu Sosial di Universitas Nasional Seoul. Setelah lulus dari Sekolah Hukum Universitas Nasional Seoul, Ia bekerja di Komisi Hak Asasi Manusia Nasional dan aktif sebagai aktor teater di "ZIT Lembaga Penelitian Budaya dan Seni Disabilitas." Saat ini aktif sebagai pengacara di Seoul.
