This is a story about animals that help a baby turtle struggling to get out of a pit by itself.

There's a big hubbub. All the animals are running toward something. What Is Happening? Did the lion die? Is there a fire? "Someone needs help!" shouted the owl. A tiny turtle is stuck in a pit. After coming out of his shell, the turtle fell into a pit of sand while crawling toward the sea. The animals want to help the poor baby. A huge elephant approaches. "May I help?" "I can do it myself," the turtle replies. The animals keep reaching out to help. Instead of responding, the baby turtle stubbornly tries to get out of the pit by himself.
