Yoo Seol-hwa
(English) Before becoming a children’s author, Yoo Seol-Wha dedicated many years to refining her craft by drawing illustrations for picture books on a wide range of subjects. Her first publication, titled Super Turtle, represents the culmination of her efforts.
Super Turtle tells the tale of what happens following a turtle's victory over a bunny in a race, encouraging readers to reflect on the importance of staying true to oneself. Its sequel, Super Bunny, follows the bunny's journey after its loss, in a story of resilience that teaches about how to overcome failure. The two books touch upon universal themes that resonate with readers of all ages, which has made them popular with both young and old alike. Yoo Seol-Wha has also published many other picture books since, including Magnificent Doghouse, Well Done, Twin Gloves!, You Can Do It, Plastic Glove!, Lying Makes Rubber Glove Go Poot-Poot!, and Protect the Planet of Cats!
