(English) <I Am Subway>
Clickety-clack, clickety-clack, our life rolls.
This is the first picture book of the artist Kim Hyoeun, who has mirrored the image of our children with her elaborate illustrations which allow us to feel her warm heart. The subway that follows the circular track going on the surface and underground. To wake up the sleeping people during rush hour, the train shakes its body hard. During the uncrowded morning hour, it secretly greets the passengers it hasn’t seen for ages with welcoming greetings. In the evening, when many weary people cast themselves upon it, the train softly stares at them. It strains its ears to the invisible stories filling itself. The eyes of the author started to capture the invaluable lives of people riding the subway who wear an expression of fatigue on their faces and it has turned into an enormous number of drawings. Repeatedly corrected and checked overall composition and the illustrations that were revised again and again after the scene was decided, to find just the right atmosphere, light, and temperature she was looking for. 每天，城市地铁都在同一时间、同一路线承载乘客出行。故事在这样的地铁声中开始。地铁穿梭在城市的地下和地上，运行在圆形轨道上。哐当哐当，早高峰时的地铁用力晃动地行驶，是为了赶快叫醒座位上打瞌睡的人；悠闲的上午，地铁开心地奔向好久不见的乘客，热情地打着招呼； 到了晚上，忙碌的一天结束了，地铁安静地凝视疲惫的人们，倾听到了地铁里许许多多看不见的故事。

Kim Hyoeun
After studying Fiber Design in her college, Kim Hyoeun studied Picture Books in ‘Ibpill,’ an illustration educational institution. Picture books drawn by Kim Hyoeun include A Starry Flower Wal, l Am Dallal! Who Are You?, Minji and the Squirrel, It Is my Hat!, My Brother and I, and Dongdong Kimdong. Collections of children’s poems drawn by Kim include Giving a Dragonfly in Marriage. Picture books illustrated by Kim include On a Rainy Day, Our Path Becomes a Way, and I Am Sleepy.
