- Oriental Medicine Remedy to protect health through lifestyle habits
Kim Kyungcheol, the author of this book, graduated from Kyung Hee University's College of Korean Medicine, the best school in Korea for Korean Medicine. Kim holds a Ph.D in Korean Medicine, and he is currently a professor at the Dong-Eui University College of Korean Medicine. He has continuously pursued "Yangsaeng" lifestyle since his twenties.
Living a healthy, long life is everybody's wish. We spend a lot of money to eat healthy foods and buy tools for our health care. As we willingly travel just to eat something good for our health, there are numerous restaurants throughout Korea that sell healthy foods. We also often go on trips to relieve stress. But we may wonder if there is a way to gracefully and continuously maintain our health without spending a penny.
Based on the traditional medicine of Northeast Asia, the author teaches how to maintain health in our daily lives with habits and foods. This book consists of seven parts. It divides the elements of human life into six categories (Eating, Dwelling and Exercise, Emotion Control, Sexuality, Relationships and Social Life, and Acclimatization). Good methods for maintaining health that you can easily follow in your daily life are introduced by category.
First and foremost, Part 1 explains the basic concepts of "Yangsaeng" and oriental medicine. "Yangsaeng" means, in terms of oriental medicine, taking good care of health so that one does not get sick and can live a long, healthy life. Two traditional books about oriental medicine, Donguibogam (Principles and practice of Eastern medicine) and Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon), also focus on "Yangsaeng."
Readers can start reading from Part 1, or read other parts first and come back to Part 1.
The author compiled his experiences of mind practice and information about a healthy, long life and Yangsaeng into this one book.
*The purpose of the book is to:
(a) Help with economic and efficient health care
(b) Allow readers to see society and relationships from the perspective of oriental medicine
(c) Increase awareness of the importance of Oriental medicine, daily habits and preventive medicine
