Do you know "Tuvalu"? Children living on the small island in the South Pacific go to swim in the waters after school. They also enjoy a swing installed on a palm tree or play football with friends. But the children of Tuvalu are on the verge of a serious problem: the country they are living in is being disappearing. At the current rate, if the water continues to rise as the glaciers melt, Tuvalu will be submerged under the water in 30-60 years.
Even now, Tuvalu is facing various difficulties including lack of water and food, and waste issues. The author hopes this book can serve as an opportunity to think about the environment through the efforts made by the people of Tuvalu, who hold festivals and plant mangroves with hopes that the island will not cease to exist. The author prays that the children of Tuvalu will continue to have a future where they can enjoy their lives on the green island. The author hopes the world will get together and help the children of Tuvalu to be able to continue to live their lives in their homeland.
The author says that she minimized writing and added as much drawings of the actual Tuvalu as possible. The beautiful colors featured on each page in the backdrop of Tuvalu will deliver a message and emotion that cannot be fully contained in words. Each and every scene that was completed after multiple adjustments will bring great emotion and sympathy.
