Yoonjae, the main character of this story, is a unique character who has difficulty feeling emotions. He can't read what's behind people's behaviors or words and tries his best to just live normally. His mom tells him how to react: Smile when others smile, say "Thank you" when other people do something nice for you. The boy is unable to read anything behind the scenes and is thus called a monster and left alone after he loses his whole family in a tragic accident. However, just as he feels he has lost everything, new people come into his life. He meets a child named Gonee, who has sad memories, and Dora, who is the complete opposite of Gonne and has a pure and bright mind. Dr. Shim, who wants to help Yoonijae, also comes into his life. Through many different events among the characters, readers can learn how difficult it is to understand each other's feelings while at the same learning the importance of understanding.
