Overview

This book paints a charming picture of Wriggly, a worrywart earthworm, and her breathtaking journey.

Book Intro

The more I forget to worry, the better my luck!

Come rain or shine, Wriggly is a worm who is constantly worried about something. Then one day, Wriggly receives a gift from her aunt. It was her great-great-grandmother's lucky green necklace that has been handed down from generation to generation of worms when they leave home for the first time. Wriggly was so full of excitement that she tossed and turned all night. The next morning, Wriggly finally decides to hit the road. She grabs her umbrella, hat, and shawl and sets off on her journey. The excitement soon wears off, as she is soon faced with unexpected dangers. Wriggly gets snatched up by a big bird, then she gets swallowed whole by a big fish. Believing in the power of the lucky necklace, Wriggly saves herself by pretending to be sick and tickling the nostrils of the fish to escape. All she has left is a wet necklace. At night, she's startled by the sudden sound of loud noises. Pop, bang, boom! They're fireworks! Unable to resist her curiosity, Wriggly heads toward the fireworks. She finds herself looking at a big party in a forest under the moonlight. Wriggly tells her newfound animal friends about her adventures and jumps around to the sound of the music. Amidst the excitement, Wriggly loses her lucky necklace.

People, both children and adults, often cannot distinguish between dreams and reality and experience anxiety when facing new challenges--like Wriggly, the worrywart worm. However, Wriggly starts to forget about her worries after receiving the lucky necklace. Wriggly's family believes in her, provides strength and courage, and sparks a curiosity that helps her venture into an unknown world. She sets off on a journey alone, faces hardships, and overcomes difficulties using newfound wisdom and without giving up. Eventually, she meets new friends and gains confidence and courage. In the end, Wriggly realizes that luck will find its way when she's able to forget about her worries. Readers will be able to laugh, cry, and journey with Wriggly and reflect on the meaning of true courage, wisdom, the joy of travel, and the importance of friendship.
