Seong-yi, a ghost from the Baekje Kingdom, one of the ancient three kingdoms of Korea, appears above some fried chicken placed on a ceremonial table for Wul-yi’s late elder brother. Wul-yi, who wants to start a new life out of the shadow of her good, kind brother, finds the little ghost Seong-yi bothersome but gradually comes to pay attention to the story that Seong-yi tells. Grave robbers have eyes on the artifacts buried under Wul-yi’s house, but Seong-yi can only go to the otherworld after the artifacts in which her soul is held are safely excavated.

In this book, exciting adventures unfold above ground and underground with secrets revealed. Readers may feel impressed and touched reading about Wul-yi who learns great love as she discovers the story left by her brother and Seong-yi’s sacrifice.

Inspired by Pungnap-dong, Seoul, where the ancient city Hanseong of Baekje was located and many relics are still being discovered, the author created this story about Wul-yi who lives in an old house in a redevelopment area and meets the little ghost Seong-yi who helps her get over the grief of having lost her family and realize the value of love through relics.

This book will give readers the opportunity to use their imaginations about the history that may be hidden underneath the ground through this storytelling pressed deep into readers’ hearts.

'과거 백제한성이 위치했던, 현재까지도 많은 유물이 발견되고 있는 서울 송파구 풍납동에서 지형적 영감을 받아, 재개발 지역 오래된 주택에서 살아가는 ‘울이’가 백제 귀신 ‘성이’를 만나 가족을 잃은 슬픔에서 회복하고 유물을 통해 사랑의 가치를 깨닫는 과정을 그렸다.
