Could It Be True?
* A Single Phone Call *
A 24-year-old recent college graduate, Sujin is preparing for advanced education overseas. One day, she receives a suspicious call. The caller Jiyeon claims to be Sujin's daughter 20 years in the future. Sujin finds this claim ludicrous and ignores it like any other prank call. To Sujin's surprise, however, Jiyeon calls again at the promised time. Sujin tries to find hard evidence to prove that this is an ill-humored prank, but she cannot help becoming more distracted when Jiyeon reveals Sujin's frustrated plan to pursue her studies and become a professor.
* A Call Impacting Sujin *
After having prepared for her dream for years, the revelation that Sujin will not become a professor comes to her as a shock. Now, Sujin begins to heed what Jiyeon has to say. Sujin consults with her best friend Hannah and boyfriend Hyeokgeon but to no avail. As Jiyeon's calls continue, Sujin's confusion only grows. Interaction with Jiyeon now preoccupies Sujin, and Sujin can no longer take it as a joke.
* Mom, Do Not Marry Dad *
As Sujin is left confused about Jiyeon, Jiyeon drops another bomb. She shares how Sujin was derailed from her path to becoming a professor and what kind of life she has after marriage. Jiyeon reveals the story from her perspective as Sujin's daughter. Jiyeon bursts into tears from the difficulty she has gone through herself, and Sujin continues to be mired. Jiyeon says what she wanted to say all along. "Mom, leave your boyfriend. Do not marry that man. Live your own life."
* Could it be True? *
Sujin doesn't know what to do with Jiyeon's plea to end her current relationship, pursue her career, and live abroad. Sujin wonders whether Jiyeon's calls, what she told her of her future, and what Jiyeon has said are true. In the meantime, Sujin received an acceptance letter from the academic program in Germany that she has been preparing for. Now, she is left with a choice... Are Jiyeon's calls true? The future Jiyeon shared -- is it true? What is Sujin going to choose?
