*在地球和月球间出现的失误**

2031年在宇宙出现异常信号之前，大家都认为韩国首艘月球探测船“韩蔚1号”的发射是成功的。在搭乘韩蔚1号的三名宇航员闵俊、徐允、朱原陷入绝望之时，负责月球探测项目的罗老宇宙中心却想不出任何对策。无法继续等待的队长闵俊违反管制室的指示，走出探测船试图进行检查。他很快发现穿透燃料舱外壁的氧化剂正像喷泉一样喷涌而出。这让他意识到自己一行人难以顺利返回地球了。

*善意的救援并不存在**

首届连任制韩国总统尹中提出了“以宇宙开发刺激经济成长”口号。对他来说，宇航事故就意味着政治上的死亡，是致命的。就在他束手无策之际，尹中的政治伙伴美国总统欧文意外地伸出了援手——向月球的宇航基地派出了救援队。不久蒙着神秘面纱的半月号探测船出现在了韩蔚1号面前。但半月号此行的目的并非救援，他们并未对韩蔚1号提供任何修理和援助，只留下几句不明所以的话，便离去了。

*不受欢迎的着陆**

在所有人都认为飞船即将脱离轨道而坠落的绝望中，三位宇航员绞尽脑汁想出了一条妙计：在月球背面登陆。虽然无法抵达月球正面的目标地点，但在管制室的配合下，登陆月背是完全可行的。三位宇航员决定进入地球上无法观测，接受不到任何通讯信号的区域，一场真正的危机就此拉开了帷幕。一进入月球的不可视区，从某处发射的地对空导弹就喷着火焰向探测船飞了过来。

*月球的背面，暗面**

看着毫不留情地飞过来的导弹，三位宇航员陷入了慌乱。在一触即发的危机时刻，战斗机飞行员出身的闵俊本能地握着操纵杆，避开了导弹。韩蔚探测船戏剧性地降落到了月球表面。一群身份不明的人随即向韩蔚探测船围了过来。三位宇航员这才意识到自己进入了暗面。在无处躲藏、无处可逃的月球背面，三个人为生存开始寻找起光亮。

Darkside

* Cislunar Defect * 

In 2031, the launch of South Korea's first manned lunar orbiter Hanul 1 appears to be a success until a warning indicator begins sounding while the spacecraft is in the middle of outer space. The three astronauts onboard - Minjun, Seoyun, and Juwon - fall into despair, and Naro Space Center, which oversees the lunar exploration project, struggles to resolve the incident. Against the control center's orders, expedition lead Minjun conducts a spacewalk operation and discovers a punctured tank spouting an oxidizing agent -- an indication that the astronauts cannot make the return trip to Earth.

* No Rescue with Goodwill*

President Yoon Jung is South Korea's first second-term president. He won the election with a campaign highlighting economic growth powered by the space industry. The news of the distressed astronauts was a critical blow to his political career. While the Blue House was unable to make any calls, President Yoon's American counterpart, President Owen, made an unexpected offer: the United States would launch a search and rescue mission from its manned lunar base. Soon after, the secretive U.S. spacecraft Half-moon conducts a rendezvous and proximity operation with Hanul 1. However, it turns out the rescue is not Half-moon's primary mission objective. Half-moon leaves Hanul 1 without fixing the spacecraft or rescuing the three distressed astronauts. 

* Unwelcomed Landing *

Expecting to fall out of orbit or crash-land, the three dejected astronauts desperately try to execute a solution: landing on the darkside of the moon. It was a plausible option when combined with the control center's suggestions. Nonetheless, the three were not able to land at their initial landing site on the Earth-facing lunar surface. Now, the three astronauts must attempt to enter the blindspot where observation and communication from Earth cannot reach. The actual crisis is only just beginning. As soon as the orbiter enters the blindspot, a missile launched from the lunar surface flies straight at their orbiter.

* The Darkside of the Moon *

The three astronauts panic as they discover the missile headed in their direction. At this critical juncture, Minjun, a former fighter jet pilot, takes the wheel and evades the missile, making a dramatic landing on the lunar surface. However, unknown figures approach the spacecraft, and the three astronauts realize that they have just stepped into a pitch-black darkness. On the other side of the moon with no place to hide or run, the three search for light and struggle to survive.

*지구와 달 사이에서 발견된 결함**

2031년, 한국 최초의 달 탐사선 ‘한울 1호’의 발사는 성공적인 것처럼 보였다. 우주 한가운데서 이상 신호가 나타나기 전까지는. 한울 1호에 탑승한 세 우주인 민준, 서윤, 주원은 절망에 사로잡히고, 달 탐사를 총괄하는 나로우주센터는 뾰족한 대책을 찾지 못한다. 기다리다 못한 대장 민준은 관제실의 지시를 어기고 우주선 밖으로 유영을 시도한다. 곧 그는 산화제가 탱크 외벽을 뚫고 분수처럼 쏟아지는 것을 발견하고, 자신들이 온전히 지구로 되돌아갈 수 없음을 알아차린다. 

*선의의 구조는 없다**

우주개발을 통한 경제 성장을 모토로 첫 중임제 대통령에 당선된 윤중. 그에게 우주인들의 사고 소식은 정치적 사망 선고만큼이나 치명적이다. 발만 동동 구르고 있던 때, 윤중의 정치 파트너인 미국의 오웬 대통령이 뜻밖의 제안을 건넨다. 달에 건설된 유인 우주기지에서 구조대를 파견하겠다는 것. 이윽고 모든 것이 베일에 싸인 하프문(Half-moon) 우주선이 한울 1호 앞에 나타난다. 그러나 하프문의 목적은 구조가 아니었다. 그들은 알 수 없는 말만 늘어놓은 뒤 한울 1호를 수리하지도, 구조하지도 않고 떠난다.

*환영받지 못한 착륙**

모두가 궤도 이탈 혹은 추락을 예상하며 절망하는 상황. 세 우주인은 가까스로 묘안을 찾아낸다. 달의 뒷면에 착륙하는 것. 관제실에서 제안한 플랜과 더불어 실행한다면 가능성이 있었지만 그럼에도 목표 지점이었던 달 앞면에 다다를 수는 없었다. 그렇게 세 우주인은 지구에서 관측되지 않고 통신마저 불가능한 지역에 진입을 시도하지만, 진짜 위기는 이제 시작이었다. 지구가 보이지 않는 지역으로 들어서자마자, 달 어딘가에서 발사된 지대공 미사일이 불을 뿜으며 탐사선을 향해 날아든다.

*달의 뒷면, 다크사이드**

무자비하게 날아오는 미사일을 보며 세 우주인은 혼돈에 빠진다. 일촉즉발의 순간, 전투기 조종사 출신 민준이 본능적으로 조종간을 잡아 미사일을 피한 뒤 한울 탐사선을 극적으로 달 표면에 내려앉힌다. 그러나 머지않아 정체를 알 수 없는 자들이 한울 탐사선을 향해 다가오고, 세 우주인은 이내 자신들이 짙은 어둠에 발을 들였다는 것을 깨닫게 된다. 숨을 곳도, 도망칠 곳도 없는 달의 이면에서 세 사람은 살아남기 위해 빛을 찾아 나아간다.
