Overview

The theory of relativity, gravity, black holes, wormholes, and the 5th dimension... This book tackles all the scientific questions about the universe!

Book Intro

In December 2014, the popular science fiction film Interstellar was released to wide acclaim. The film introduces a variety of scientific theories including Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity, gravity, black holes, wormholes, and the 5th dimension. Although it's a Sci-Fi film, it was based on humanism, and the sophisticated scientific evidence presented through consultation with Professor Kip Thorne of the California Institute of Technology stimulated the intellectual curiosity of audiences.
However, general audiences asserted that the film was difficult to understand because of these scientific theories. Subsequently, the media tried to help audiences understand the film by reaching out to experts who could explain Interstellar. Still, the public expressed a desire to know more about the film, which is not easily explained, and in online communities, analysis of the film's scientific theories by laymen has received high views.
The Interstellar Lecture of Professor Lee meets these needs of the public. It not only explores the many scientific theories that are mentioned briefly in the film, but also those that are not covered. The book explores various topics to provide a better understanding of the film, including topics such as why people of 7th-century Silla were interested in astronomy, why the night sky is dark, gravity and the moon, the concept behind Einstein's special and general theories of relativity, black holes and wormholes, the universe and the galaxy, and extra dimensions beyond the 4th dimension. Other cosmological questions frequently asked by the general public are answered as well.
This book has a well-defined American Frontier Spirit that follows a typical Odyssey-like composition and is aimed at being an easy 'cosmology lecture' that a story of the near future that we would experience and that the readers can feel as fun as a movie with the story of failed space exploration. Those who have already seen Interstellar will be able to satisfy their curiosities and better appreciate the film, and those who have not will still be able to gain a great deal of scientific insight into the mysteries of the universe.
