『突拍子もないけれど科学です』は、「イグノーベル賞」を通じて、科学を面白おかしく、おかしな視点で紹介するシリーズです。私はコンパスを持ったままうんちをする犬を見ているパト先生に近づき、理由を尋ねます。パト先生は、科学的な観察をしていると答えます。 そして、犬がうんちとおしっこをするのを観察してイグノーベル賞を受賞した研究チームを紹介し、自己整列について説明します。ジャムを塗ったパンを落とすとなぜジャムが塗られた面が必ず床に落ちるのか、手を触れずにカエルを浮揚させることができるのかなど、イグノーベル賞を受賞した研究のうち、物理学に関する奇想天外な研究を紹介します。
