Et voilà que le tigre d’un vieux conte transgresse le temps pour se tenir devant nous !

Le tigre, un animal des plus effrayants mais parfois clownesque et drôle, a longtemps vécu aux côtés des ancêtres de la Corée. Inspirée par ce tigre coréen et s’appuyant sur divers documents historiques, peintures folkloriques et contes populaires, l’auteure Kang Hyesook imagine des frères pleins de vivacité et de caractère. Elle reconstruit ces récits de tigres qui apparaissent dans différents contes, comme les frères nés de la même mère, le même jour et à la même heure, rassemblés pour leur fête d’anniversaire où ils se racontent mutuellement leurs histoires dans un cadre comique. Ce livre illustré, La Fête d’anniversaire des tigres, fait une forte impression sur les lecteurs dès sa couverture. Lorsque l’on tourne la page, le caractère chinois « 虎 », signifiant « tigre », remplit la feuille comme un talisman, orné par une file d’animaux traversant la colline. Lorsqu’ils entrent dans la gueule grande ouverte du tigre, comme dans une caverne, le fil des différentes histoires se déroule. C’est le signe qui annonce le début d’une recréation des contes traditionnels. Les neuf courts épisodes, basés sur des contes connus et inconnus, sont racontés du point de vue des tigres et offrent aux lecteurs le plaisir de revisiter d’anciens récits. Sur la dernière page du livre, les neuf contes traditionnels d’origine sont présentés pour une meilleure compréhension de l’œuvre. De plus, l’humour et l’esprit sont parsemés de petits détails illustrés qui captureront l’œil et l’attention du lecteur grâce à leur charme unique. Le livre, très apprécié par les enfants du monde entier, offre des dessins puissants et fougueux mais contient également des significations subtiles et détaillées. は韓国の民話や民談に出てくる虎を新たに結び付けた絵本だ。民話や民談の虎たちが同じお腹から生まれ育った9匹の虎兄弟として再誕生し、ユニークで美しい魅力と楽しさを見せてくれる。また一つ一つが滑稽で機転が利いたアイデア満載の絵は独特の魅力で目と心をひきつける。スイス・ジュネーブのPrix P’tits Momes賞とフランスのLe Prix Nord Isere賞を受賞し、世界の子供たちから沢山愛されるKang Hyesook作家の韓国的な色彩と個性が詰まった作品だ。

The tiger, a most scary animal yet sometimes clownish and funny has lived alongside the ancestors of Korea. Inspired by this Korean tiger, Kang Hyesook, the author, created vivacious and individualistic tiger brothers based on diverse historical records, folk paintings, and folktales. She reconstructed the tigers that appear in different tales as brothers who were born of the same mother on the same day and hour and they are gathered at their birthday party and tell their stories to each other in a comical setting. The book, Tiger’s Party, gives a strong impression to the readers, starting with its cover. A tiger is shown with glaring eyes and mouth agape, thereby revealing its huge incisors, and underneath him are the animals trudging the mountain slope with a gift sack. With its claws up, the tiger, mountain hero, looks pleased, looking down at the trail of animals coming to his party. It looks like he is looking forward to the gifts he will receive or maybe he is excited about feasting on his guests. When you turn the page, the character “虎,” which is the Chinese character for tiger, fills the cotton bound page like a talisman and a line of animals traversing the slopes. And when they enter the big open mouth of the tiger, like a cave, the stories of the tiger brothers, the hosts of the birthday party, will be revealed. It is a signal for a re-creation of a beginning of pre-existing traditional fairy tales. Starting with folktales that readers are familiar with, as well as unfamiliar ones, the nine short tales are told from the tigers’ point of view and provide readers with great fun to rehash the old stories. On the last page of the book, the nine traditional tales, which are the basis of the tiger’s stories, are presented for a better understanding of the book. In addition, humor and wit are interspersed in small details with the illustrations and will capture the reader’s eye and attention with their unique charm. The book, much beloved by the children around the world, offers drawings that are powerful and uninhibited yet contain subtle meaning in all their details. This book that shows the Korean colors with a bright “fluorescent” palette as well as the illustrator’s unique touch will be worth keeping for a long time, not to mention guaranteeing the readers with much enjoyment from reading it. 

옛이야기 속 호랑이 시간을 뛰어넘어 우리 앞에 서다!
