"Yangsuny’s Rice Cake Shop is the fourth story in Manbogy’s Rice Cake Shop series, which has sold over 600,000 copies since it was first released in 2010. The latest book is the first volume that begins a new season for the rice cake shop, which had long closed its doors after granting Korangji’s wish.

If Grandma Samsin (the goddess of childbirth) made rice cakes for the children in the first three stories, in the new season, Korangji, who has now become a human, plays that role. Korangji, who goes to school to take the children’s side, carefully observes the children and looks to see if there is a child who needs his help. The appearance of the basement where the rice cakes are made and the “Book of Recipes,” which shows the process by which they are made, adds another fresh layer of narrative to the pattern of the rice cake shop, which changes its sign according to the main character. 2010년 출간 이후 누적 60만 부를 돌파한 『만복이네 떡집』 시리즈 네 번째 이야기, 『양순이네 떡집』. 이번 신작은 꼬랑지의 소원을 들어주고 오래간 문을 닫았던 떡집의 새로운 시즌, 그 시작을 여는 첫 권이다.

떡을 만드는 지하 공간과 떡을 만드는 과정이 담긴 ‘비법 책’의 등장은 주인공에 따라 간판이 바뀌는 떡집의 패턴에 한 겹 새로운 서사를 더한다. 쿵더쿵쿵더쿵 신나는 몸짓으로 자신이 열심히 만든 떡을 먹는 아이의 모습을 몰래 지켜보는 꼬랑지의 선한 마음은 결핍을 지닌 아이들의 허기짐을 따스하고 든든하게 채워 준다.
