Overview

Book Intro

Wild pigs, water deer, squirrels, raccoons, wild dogs, and crows are all designated as harmful animals in Korea because they could threaten and do harm on people’s life and properties in Korea. This book is presented in the point of those harmful animals. The writer provides us with the opportunity to put us on different shoes and to realize how these animals survive trying to avoid the traps set up by humans and not to get caught by hunters.

The book also gives us the chance to think of how we should try to live altogether with animals. It revokes the issue of dignity of harmful animal life, and also includes the relationship of food chain, friendship, and the conflicts of interests between humans and animals. By doing so, the writer has created strong and vivid storyline with thrills. In addition, the illustrator also described all the characters in a realistic way by capturing how their emotions change, and symbolically and delicately illustrated the conflict between Dae-Bal and Doya as well as runaway scene from hunters.
