This is a thrilling, ghost-busting, grand adventure involving Haejoo the ghost hunter, Taejoo the boy who can see ghosts, and Chasa, the five monsters.
Due to some family issues, the brothers Taejoo and Taehee go to stay with their grandmother for a while, who lives in Monster Village. On the bus to the village, the brothers feel a sense of foreboding. Taejoo, who can see ghosts, tells his brother Taehee, who was bullied by his classmates also for being able to see ghosts, not to tell anyone about their extraordinary ability. For these brothers, the Monster Village is not the greatest place to be. On their first day in the village, a series of strange events unfold, and Taejoo discovers that his own brother has been possessed by a spirit—a money box monster.
"Ghosts live off the energy of humans. In this case, he must have exchanged his energy for money. He has to be careful. If he keeps accepting more money from the ghost, something worse might happen. I have to stop them!"
Taehee, who was sent to live with his grandmother because his parents ran into financial trouble, must have had an urgent desire for money and therefore accepted the offer made by the money box ghost. When his brother disappears with the ghost, Taejoo goes to visit Haejoo, the museum keeper of the Monster Village Museum, who told him to come see her anytime he needs help. It turns out that Haejoo is a ghost hunter. Together with Haejoo, the monsters Chasa work to protect the village from harmful ghosts. They head out to save Taehee from the money box ghost. In the story's second half, the captain of the ghosts in Monster Village, who is none other than Haejoo’s older brother Woljoo, takes off his mask and reveals himself. Woljoo has been plotting secretly to fight the Underworld God and plunge the entire world into chaos! Can Haejoo, Taejoo, and the ghost hunters stop Woljoo in time and save this world from danger?
