At a so-called dangerous school of beasts and monsters, adventures unfold and friendship takes center stage!
One day, 12-year-old Mio wakes up to find that she has turned into a fox with nine tails. When she had been a normal preteen she'd walk to school with her boyfriend Suho, but now she has to transfer to a school for other monsters and wild beasts.
Mio had always been a star student who received praise for her grades, her looks, and her winning personality, but now, at her new school, she's treated as a poor student who can't even manage her many tails. Mio, who is determined to hide her tails and meet her boyfriend, hears from her roommate Jea that she must learn to control the use of her nine tails. Only when she recognizes the tails as a part of herself can she learn to control them. As such, Mio must confront the irony of having to accept the tails--the very trait that characterizes her as a monster--as a part of herself. In other words, she must accept that she has become a monster. And with that acceptance, Mio finally confronts the world she must live in.
Jea the vampire, Soso the spiderman, and Mio become friends, and together, they try to solve Mio's problem using their abilities and wisdom.
Mio succeeds in escaping from the school but fails at meeting Suho. There are no traces left of Suho and no one even remembers who he is. Not long before escaping from her school, Mio received a mysterious object (a round blue piece of something) that she feels certain was sent from Suho. She's not sure what the object is, but she knows something has happened to her friend. Now Mio has a mission. She must figure out what happened to her boyfriend and why he's disappeared. The more she tries to understand his disappearance, the closer she and her friends get to the secrets surrounding the monster school. Does Suho's disappearance have something to do with the school?
