How Did Yangban Live in the Joseon Dynasty? is a picture book that offers a fun and entertaining explanation of the Life Folding-Screens that contain the lives and hopes of the yangban of the Joseon Dynasty. Makdong goes to a museum to see some paintings. From one painting, a mysterious light glows and drags Makdong into the painting. The artist suggests that they travel across the Life Folding-Screen. The trip with the artist who draws the folding-screen lets readers see how our ancestors had lived back then the 1st birthday party, studying, winning first place at a state exam, marriage, being a successful official, and growing old healthy and happy.

Pak Suhyeon
Author Pak Suhyeon studied painting at Hongik University and is currently working as a children's book planner/writer and a freelance illustrator. She was awarded at the 16th UNESCO The NOMA Concours for Children's Picture Book Illustrations and was the selected illustrator at the 1st CJ PICTURE BOOK FESTIVAL.
