Su-yeong, professor of criminology and counseling psychologist, receives a private commission to be the counselor to Yeom Seuk-hui who is arrested on charges of murdering seventeen people. It is not the police or persecution but an incumbent National Assemblyman, Park Tae-hwang, who made this request. He believes Seok-hui has been asked by someone to assault him.
For some reason, Su-yeong takes the job. But Seok-hui turns their counseling session into a game; meanwhile, Su-yeong, who must elicit a confession of murder from her for the sake of the victims, posts riddles online of which Seuk-hui asked her to find the answers.

My daughter is the assistant to a serial murderer?
With the help of the netizens, Su-yeong gets a confession, winning that “game,” and thereby gets Seok-hui’s testimony about the murder. Several days later, she receives an odd piece of information. In order to find out if it is true or not, she meets Seok-hui and discovers that she is up to something dangerous. Su-yeong tries to notify the police investigator right away but hears something totally unexpected from Seok-hui—that her assistant is in close proximity to Su-yeong.

Look for the eighteenth victim!
Seok-hui escapes from the convoy bus and flees to the city of Yeonnam that gets blockaded. She then proposes another “game” to Su-yeong—that she finds the eighteenth victim hidden away in the given time. Su-yeong must win the game to save Yeung-ji who is with the murderer.
Su-yeong is dragged to a space set up like a stage and she gathers clues to hunt for the victim’s whereabouts. But what becomes evident is that the eighteenth victim is in effect not a victim but a murderer who evaded the net of investigation after committing an organized murder.

Should she remain a martyred victim or a murderer?
Seok-hui wanted to use Su-yeong to expose the long hidden existence of the organization and the covered-up cases of murder. But what Su-yeong discovered from Seok-hui’s riddle, which enabled her to find the eighteenth victim, Yeung-ji, was a record of all the horrifying things that her daughter went through. Su-yeong points the gun at the assailant who Seok-hui identified as the eighteenth victim and the exploiter of Yeung-ji.
“What do you think will happen to that son of bitch when he gets out alive? He’s in a wreck—how do you think he’s going to handle his rage?”
Should she let her get away from the perpetrator for good or should she bring an end to it all, here and now? As the mother of Yeung-ji, Su-yeong has to makes the best possible decision.
