The late father of author Kim Bo-tong was the inspiration for this work. After his father died of cancer, Kim suddenly quit his job. While contemplating what to do next, he drew a picture in his notebook and felt pleasure for the first time. That’s how Kim became a cartoonist. He constantly reminisced on the times he shared with his father and created Amanza as if he were writing a letter to him. His work has now reached to countries beyond Korea such as the United States and Japan. Amanza, a series that was a topic of daily discussion on HuffPost and the Japanese website for Lezhin Comics, has established itself as a work of healing that has touched the hearts of countless people around the world.
