ミンホとミンジは兄妹だ。都心から少し離れた田園村に住んでいる。兄ミンホは小学校１年生、妹ミンジは６歳の幼稚園児だ。ある日ミンホは書き取りの試験で0点を取り、肩を落とす。妹ミンジを連れて家に帰る途中もミンホの心は重かった。しかし天真爛漫な妹のミンジは、周りの景色と自然を見ながら楽しんでいる。しばらく森で休んでから家に着いた兄妹。0点のテストを見たお母さんのため息にミンホは再び肩身が狭くなるが、ミンジは線だらけで雨降りのように見えるテスト用紙に傘を描きながら笑いを振りまく。ミンホはミンジの解決策に慰められ、心がほぐれていく。
(English) Downpour
Minho and Minji, a first grader and a kindergartener, are siblings living in a suburban neighborhood. Minho is upset after doing poorly on his spelling quiz. The red marks on his quiz resemble raindrops, just like the ones that are falling all around him. During the walk back home with his sister Minji, Minho feels dejected. Meanwhile, his carefree sister enjoys herself, marvelling at her surroundings and nature. She examines a row of marching ants and delves into her imagination, spurred on by a heart-shaped sky. As the weather clears, the sky is bluer and the air crisp. After a short break in the woods, the siblings arrive home. The quiz results and mom's sigh weigh on Minho's shoulders, but when Minji draws an umbrella on the rainy quiz, everyone breaks out into pleasant laughter. Minho finds comfort in Minji's resolution.
The world surrounding Minho and Minji is subdued, depicted in a mix of grey and blue, just like Minho's heart. However, as Minji appears, vibrant colors bring energy. The scene portraying Minji's flight in the blue sky with a red dragonfly is magical and relieving. Illustrating the children's innocent hearts and visualizing the author's amusing imagination, this book heals both children and adult readers.

Minho et Minji sont frères et sœurs. Ils vivent dans un village rural juste à l'extérieur du centre-ville. le frère Minho est en première année d'école primaire et la sœur cadette Minji est en maternelle à la maternelle. Un jour, Minho était très déprimé après avoir obtenu un zéro au test de dictée. Il y avait des gouttes de pluie sur le papier de test. Le cœur de Minho est lourd jusqu'à la maison avec sa jeune sœur Minji. Cependant, son frère innocent Min-ji apprécie le paysage et la nature environnantes. (English) Author Yoon Jungmi had plenty of worries as a child. Many years have passed, and now as an older lady, she has even more to worry about. During hard times, however, she gazes at the blue sky, the green mountains in distance, the small planters in her house, and the insects that fly by -- these help her forget her worries. When you are laiden with trouble, take your eyes off of them. You may be able to find small happiness in your surroundings and within yourself. Yoon's written and illustrated works include 『One Splended Day』.
