Overview

This fun, entertaining picture book introduces everything that a father and a child can do together, starting with the question, "What if I were a dad?"

Book Intro

In the eyes of children, dads are mostly tired and exhausted. They go to work early in the morning and come back home late at night and fall asleep. Watching them, children think, "Why is my dad always busy?" or "I want to play with Dad..."

I Want to Be a Dad is a picture book that vividly depicts children's thoughts. The dad in the illustrations becomes a theme park ride himself, bathes his child, and they go camping together. It's the "cool dad" that children want to become one day, and also what they currently want from their dads. They imagine how cool it'd be if dads took them on a treasure-hunting adventure or became a superhero to protect them, but kids soon realize that what they genuinely want from their dads is not that special.

In truth, children's wishes are simple: they just want their dads to keep promises and spend time with them. A ""cool dad"" is not someone who is extraordinary. Anyone can become this kind of dad as long as they love their children. And we all know that already.

The positive effects coming from father-child interactions are bigger than anyone can imagine. The dad's role is critical in fostering children's sound minds and warm hearts. We hope this picture book allows young readers to understand dad's big love and encourages dads to spend more time with their kids.
