Overview

This book is about what choices six children make when they discovered a witch's flyer claiming that it will grant any wish.

Book Intro

Birth of a Witch is a story about children who experience unseen conflicts between friendship and jealousy. Lusix is a group of six 5th graders gathered under the charming and confident, albeit a bit uncontrollable leader, Lua. The name "Lusix" itself is comes from "Lua," and Lua controls everything. None of the others, including the class president Taemin, or classmates Siyeon, Hyeon, or Junwu can go against Lua. No one stands on equal ground with Lua. In fact, Lua has no real friends. Soi, who used to be a member of Lusix, was the only one recognized as a true friend of Lua's, but she was kicked out of the group because of Lua's anger. The absence of Soi was soon filled with the transfer student, Jinjin. This was mainly because Lua liked Jinjin much like she had Soi.

The transfer student, Jinjin, seems a bit odd. Jinjin seems to have attended multiple schools and speaks of things that do not make much sense. And most of all, the strange flyer Jinjin brought to the first day of class gathered great interest from the members of Lusix. On it, the phrase "The witch will grant any wish" suddenly appears to the members of Lusix. much like a living organism. Taemin, who wants to escape from Lua but can't, Hyeon, who wants to hold on to the title of game genius, Junwu, who doesn't want to be compared to his older brother, Siyeon, who doesn't know what to do about her crush, and Lua, who wants to find true friendship. The members of Lusix visit the witch with hope that their wishes will be granted. The witch, who awaits them in the darkness, grants their wishes, but demands a price. And these prices lead to unimaginable outcomes. Panicked, the members of Lusix try to find the witch again, but things do not turn out the way they'd planned. Where did the witch go? And who is the real witch? The children must meet the true witch that hides within each of them.
