Overview

This is a romantic comedy novel that tells the love stories of three girls who have never been slender in their entire lives. They fall in love while eating, drinking, and sleeping.

Book Intro

(English) Eat, Drink, and Sleep

Isuk is the main writer of "Siktammiin (the Gluttonous Beauty)," a sentimental cable television broadcast focused on food. She is dying to say 'I love you' to the producer of the program, Seongjae. It is not even possible to count how many times she thinks she will never find love and feels depressed. Although Isuk always makes up her mind to lose weight, become pretty, and tell him her feelings, it is never easy. The worst thing is that Seongjae does not know what she thinks of him but often speaks and behaves as if he has feelings for her too. She is really curious about what he really thinks of her.

Of all the things Seongjae does, the hardest one for Isuk to understand is the picture of a pork cutlet. Whenever he has a meal, if there is a pork cutlet, he takes a picture of it and sends the picture to her. The cutlery is always neatly placed in his pictures as well. Why do you naturally think of me when you see a pork cutlet, instead of so many other things? Is that a tug of war between the producer and the writer?

Gangok runs an online shopping mall that sells black (the most loved color by fat girls) apparel for big-sized girls. Its sales are over one billion won each month. Her concern is that there are too many guys to love. She used to be the least popular student. But with the great success of her online shopping mall for big-sized girls, "BigBLACK," she now dates super good-looking models who are at least 180 cm tall. As a feminist, Gangok wants to marry a modest man who can support and assist her, as she is busy running a business.

Of the three fat girls, Bomin is the smallest. But she still worries about something. Bomin wonders if the reason she can't get a job is her appearance. Her self-esteem goes down and down, and she feels like she is full of complexes. On top of that, she needs full-body plastic surgery before she can meet her online boyfriend, Minhyeok, in real life. There is no other way. That is why she decides to get surgery.

Why is being slender a prerequisite for girls to love themselves? Who cares if you are a little fat? If you can love yourself more than anyone else in the world, you are already beautiful enough. Everyday, the three fat girls sit round and pray: Lord, do not tempt us with men when there is nice food in front of us!
