Close your eyes and imagine. What is the color of yellow? A warm color? How about the sweet and sour taste of a lemon? When a writer, Dtory, volunteered as an art teacher at Hanbit Center for the Blind for a year, she got a question from one of the girls at the school. “What is the shape of color?” At the time, the writer was not able to provide an answer, but the question stuck. Time has passed, and writer finally came up with an answer in the form of this book. It is a book about imagining color using senses other than sight: hearing, smell, touch and taste. Red is described as warm bonfire, orange is a growling tiger, blue is the cool sound of waves, and green is the scent of fresh grass and trees in the forest. This is a picture book that not only allows the reader to enjoy color using senses other than sight, but it is also a great book that children with visual impariment around the world can enjoy. This book was selected by Circonflexe of France at the time of its publication, and it is a 2017 Creative Picture Book Challenge winner hosted by Naver Grapholio and Woww Book Art Center.
