Book Intro

Bibimbap, one of Korea’s quintessential dishes, is delicious, and it is also an excellent traditional dish that embodies the spirit of harmony and unity. This book tells a funny story of how the ingredients of bibimbap, personified, eventually become a delicious bowl of bibimbap after showing off and arguing with each other. 

Kitchen mountain, side-dish village. The setting, which looks like a spacious dining table, is a small village where all kinds of side-dish friends live. When the sun begins to set, these friends squabble about who will be the star of tonight's dinner table. Each side dish claims to be the star, boasting that she is the most delicious and healthy dish. First of all, the beef brags that he is the side dish of side dishes, but all kinds of vegetables like bean sprouts, carrots, bellflower roots and ferns rise up in anger. The vegetables raise their voices, quarrelling over who is the best. The argument eventually builds up to a physical fight, and the entire village joins in. The Egg Sun, which was observing the situation, somehow gets dragged in and the village ends up in chaos. Grandpa Pepper Paste and Grandma Sesame Oil, who were passing by, try to stop the fight, but it's not easy. Surprisingly, the solution to the problem is all too simple.

Kim Minji (F) grew up playing with books and currently makes a living making books. She writes books and sometimes translates to introduce good overseas books to the Korean public. She dreams of a world where children can live like children. As she believes in the power of books, she continues to search for good books, read books, make books and write books. Kim Goeun (F) studied painting in Germany, where she became a painter and now makes a living with drawing. She has written and illustrated the books Snow Planet, Hiccups, Should I get up or not? and The Kidnapping of Our Family, and contributed drawings to The Talking Diary; and God of Studying Marx, Studies Money.
