(English) What a Wonderful Day
This book depicts the process of overcoming the sadness of losing one’s beloved through Siwu, who is lost in sadness from the death of his pet, the soul of the blue dog, who cannot leave the saddened Siwu’s side, and the brown dog, who has lost its way and so follows Siwu. The narrator of this book is the blue dog, who is no longer in this world. Through the blue dog, the book tells those people who have lost their beloved, "Your loved ones, who left this world first, are the one who want you to overcome this sadness and return to your normal life with a smile. Share that love you once gave your loved ones with those who need it most at the moment.”

春が来たというのに、シウはうなだれて地面ばかりを見て歩いている。その後ろを茶色の犬が少し離れてついていく。そのそばには、二人の出会いからずっと見守ってきた青い犬が歩いている。この本は愛するペットを失った悲しみから抜け出せずにいるシウと、そんなシウのそばを離れられない青い犬の魂、そしてそんなシウにちょろちょろとついていく茶色い迷子。そんな一人と二匹の姿を通じて、大切な存在を失った悲しみを克服する過程を描いている。青い犬の声を通じて筆者は語りかける。先にこの世を去った者は、残された人たちがまた笑って日常へと戻ることを望むだろうと。そして、これからは自分が受けていた愛を、その愛を必要としている人に分け与えてほしいと。

Kim Hyewon
(English) Kim Hyewon lives in the outskirts of Seoul with her three cats, Jube, Bree and Lala. Kim is interested in reading heartwarming picture books and taking care of small things, and she continues to put an effort into making picture books that readers will love to keep nearby. Baby Polar Bear Goes out into the World is the first picture book that Kim has written and illustrated.
