Overview

This book brings back memories of having cried and laughed over underwear.

Book Intro

This story is based on the times when children moved their chopsticks quickly to eat more food than their siblings, and the older ones handed clothes, stationery, and even underwear down to their younger brothers and sisters.

Cheolsoo is the youngest of seven siblings. All of his stuff is hand-me-downs from his four sisters and two brothers. One day, while getting a physical examination at school, he is embarrassed in front of classmates because he is wearing underwear with a ribbon on it. Cheolsoo begs his parents to buy him new underwear, but they only scold him. That night, he dreams of flying in the sky wearing new underwear and a sleeveless shirt.

The author says that he wrote this book thinking about the difficult times when his family could not afford to buy even new underwear but he still felt warm and happy being with them. The interesting stories and illustrations will urge young readers to think of the times when their parents were as young as themselves.

This book will also allow children and their parents to share warm memories, think of their love for their families and the true meaning of abundance, and appreciate what they have now.
