In an English kindergarten, the main character of this story, Ahan Suckjin, used to be called "James". However, after his father's retirement, his dad opens a rice cake bakery in a traditional market, which leads him to be called "Rice Cake Bakery Ahan Suckbbong", a name that eventually brings massive changes to the boy's life. He hangs out with Jojo, a boy whose grandparents run a small restaurant in the same market, and Kimura, whose parents run a store that sells dried fish. He often gets ignored by the girls in his class, and he has never been class president. Influenced by Kimura who has the life philosophy of "Do what you want, and don't care about what others think", he comes to run in the school presidential election. With a speedy narrative and bright environment, this book is filled with humor from beginning to end.
