- Book Intro
-
In this story, a boy named Jeawon begins to take a new interest in hip hop and calls himself Distracter. He creates a group called Troublemakers: 4GoMungchi. The characters in this book are stressed because of school and their respective families. They become interested in hip hop because they can show their real selves and freely express their complaints. Thoughts, paper, and a pencil are the only things that are needed when writing a rap song. Unlike singers, whose ability is pre-determined depending on their voice, or bands, who have to buy musical instruments, writing a rap song and practicing doesn't cost a lot of money; it only requires practice. As this story looks into how Distracter gets to know rap, readers can naturally learn about the compositional parts of rap, such as the methods, beats, rhymes, flows, punch lines, and swagger.
