Overview

This book teaches children that understanding and caring for friends and family is the most important part of growing up.

Book Intro

Min-jae wants nothing more than to have his younger sister disappear because he feels that she stole his parents' love away from him. Hyeon-a shares a house with her ill grandmother, but she is brave and studious. These two contrasting characters reflect two types of children. One is a reflection of today's children who are born into well-off families and never fully mature due to constant overprotection. The other is a reflection of children who independently find their own way through hardships.

The Gift That Grants Wishes tells the tale of how Min-jae, a selfish boy who appears to have everything, learns to sympathize with Hyeon-a, an underprivileged girl, and understands her secret wishes. Conflicts and the process of reconciliation are expressed vividly in this book, offering an insightful look into the psychology of the characters.
