Book Intro

Goodbye, Grandpa

Yuha had a special bond with her grandfather. She affectionately called “Grandpa” because she struggles with the proper pronunciation. Skilled at drawing, she would draw pictures capturing her grandfather’s dream of becoming a pilot. Whenever Yuha made mistakes and got scolded by her mother, her grandfather would always embrace and comfort her. However, now she can no longer see her grandfather.

Even for children, parting with a loved one can be sad and leave a sense of emptiness. Childhood memories can last a lifetime, so it is important to take the time to reflect on such moments of loss. This book comforts young readers through the resilient heart of Yuha, who experiences her grandfather’s funeral with strength, and shows how to accept and overcome farewells.
