Overview

This is the latest collection of stories by Lee Kiho, one of Korea's leading storytellers.

Book Intro

Author Lee Kiho has won the Hwang Sun-won Literary Award for Han Jeong-hui and I, and has been nominated for various prominent literary awards including the Yi Sang Literary Award, Contemporary Literature (Hyundae Munhak) Award, and Kim Yu-jeong Literary Award with these seven stories. Through this collection of seven highly-regarded stories, Lee asks, "Is your hospitality really for others, or is it for your own self-indulgence?"

Where Did Choi Mi-jin Go? is a humorous story about Lee's encounter with a used book salesperson on Jungonara who is practically giving away Lee's novels at a heavy discount. Kwon Sun-chan and the Friendly Faces tells the story of Kwon Soon-chan, a quiet demonstrator at an apartment complex holding up a hand-written poster that reads, "Kim Seok-man in Apt. 103-502, give me back my ₩7 million!" In this story, Lee asks his readers to reflect on why nice, friendly people undeserving of criticism would hurt each other. Such stories paint a picture of the everyday people around us who may be suffering.
