(English) No One Had to Tell Me
Large corporations, civil servants, national examination, and millions of certifications… What should I do for a living? How should I live? Will I be able to do a good job? The troubles of the 20s follow one after another and there is no end to wandering. I don’t have any choice, so let’s at least give this a shot… Cowardly choices leave regrets and sometimes nibble away happiness. The youth rejects empty life tailored to others’ standards. The author has also pondered deeply to walk the unique path she desires herself without conforming to the measures of others.
This book is an essay by Ji-hyang Yoo who is standing on the verge of her 20s. The vivid stories of living in the ecological community, “Byeonsan Community School,” that enlightens on the path of looking after oneself by using hands and feet and her distinct life path convey hope and courage to the youth who still haven’t stepped out toward what they want to do.

Yoo Jihyang
(English) In 1993, Yoo was born in June when the dish flowers bloom. Yoo lives up to her name, enjoying various things in various places. Dreaming of saving the earth, she studied forestry and environmental studies at Seoul National University and wandered through the forests. Afterward, Yoo settled in the forest again as a forest guide, after going through a rural life. Besides this, Yoo makes a living as an animal rights activist, freelance writer, and doing various jobs. She loves the ever-changing weather and seasons and enjoys experiencing the changes firsthand. At the pinnacle of her thirties, we await to see where Yoo will find her happiness, what stories she will share, and what she will enjoy.
(Japanese) 1993年、タチアオイの花が咲く6月に生まれました。 土地の地(ジ)、享受する享(ヒャン)でジヒャンという名前の通り、いろんな土地を享受しながら暮らしている。地球を救うという夢を抱き、ソウル大学校で森林環境学を学び、森を歩き回った。その後、退屈な帰農生活を経て、森解説家として再び森に定住した。その他、動物権活動家、フリーランスの作家など様々な仕事をして生活している。
(Vietnamese) Năm 1993, tác giả sinh vào tháng sáu khi hoa thục quỳ đang nở rộ. Với ước mơ giải cứu trái đất, cô đã theo học ngành lâm nghiệp và môi trường tại Đại học Quốc gia Seoul và đi xuyên rừng. Sau đó, sau khi sống cuộc sống nông dân mộc mạc, cô lại định cư trong rừng với vai trò là một chuyên gia phân tích cây rừng.
