The first-generation fashion columnist, Sim Ouchan, who has been much loved for his previous book Like a French Woman now sheds new light on "Belle Epoque," which felt like a cliché, with a fresh perspective. His invitation of trip to Belle Epoque is teeming with sensuous beauty and unexpected surprises. In addition to examining the art of Belle Epoque that represents art nouveau with not only crafts and paintings but also with an expanded scope of architecture, jewelry design, promotional literature, and package designs, the book vividly opens up the materials and rare illustrations where readers can directly see and hear the domain lesser known to the public like "Ballet Russe" that rocked the entire art world of the time and even influenced the history of fashion or "Melodies Francaise" that attempts a supreme linguistic beauty between poem and music.
