Today, people actively use the resources of the earth to enjoy and live in an excellent scientific and technological civilization. As a result, the environment has become polluted and global warming has progressed, resulting in frequent natural disasters such as abnormal temperatures, floods, and droughts appearing on the earth. The Green Superman in the book refers not to special people, but to ordinary people living in this age who are the main characters. The moment they become interested in the situation of the earth and become determined to act in order to change their difficult situations, they become superheroes with the enormous power to change the future of the earth and humanity.
This book is about the citizens who keenly realize their responsibility toward environmental pollution and the destruction of nature and join together to save the earth. The author shows how citizens in each region try to solve environmental problems as the author follows several cities and projects around the world. The book provides various images such as comics, pictures, photographs, and graphs, promoting easy understanding for children.

Kim Youngsook
Kim Youngsook studied archaic anthropology at university and museology at the Graduate School of Kyung Hee University. She has worked as an art and science researcher at the research institute of Gyeonggi Provincial Museum and at the Museum of Dentistry at Seoul National University. She has planned and authored many books including Shh, Baekje Lives Under My House; The Korean Science that Took the World by Surprise; Science News Revisited from the Future; and Knowledge Is Power: The Universe. She has also participated in the publication of The Woongjin Book Club Reading Magazine, The Geullbburi World History Series, The Geullbburi Social Science Series, and Museum Playground: The National Museum of Korea Activities Magazine. Among them, The Korean Science that Took the World by Surprise was selected as a Science Book of Excellence by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity in 2007.
Jang Myungjin
Jang Myungjin has worked as an illustrator for textbooks, educational materials, and advertisements for children. He has illustrated the children's books Ginny's World Travels (volumes one through three), Which Boat Did Dad Get On?; Widening Our Horizons: Information & Communication Technology; Becoming the Best Recycling Center; Electric Company Rescue Project; and Knock, Knock, Mr. Convergence Science--I Can See Power.
