Overview

Body That Overcomes Diseases and Viruses explains our body system and informs how to protect ourselves from diseases and viruses.

Book Intro

“Our body is a system!”

“A lifelong manual for our body to live up to 100 years old”

“A doctor and educator, Lee Donghwan, MD, talks about how to become a master of the ‘body that overcomes diseases and viruses.’”

Our body is a system, which consists of a network of a variety of organs, bones, muscles, and the brain. “Being ill” does not only mean that one of the body parts does not function properly, but it also means that there is a disruption in their interactions. In other words, if you have a stomach ache, you need to first take care of the stomach, but you may need to look at some other parts as well. If you cannot breathe normally, you naturally want to look at the lungs. However, there may be other sources which contribute to the breathing problems. Our body is not a machine, which can be fixed by simply replacing its parts. When we understand the system of our body, the parts of which work in close relationship with one another, and its working principles, we can better protect our body from diseases and viruses. We can be a master of the “body that overcomes diseases and viruses.”

     Q. There are so many types of nutritional supplements. Which should I take first? Is it okay to take several kinds at the same time?

     A. The nutritional supplements you should take are essential minerals, omega-3 fatty acid, vitamin D, and lactobacillus. In addition, you may want to take coenzyme Q10. In general, you can take those essential nutritional supplements together; however, you should consult your doctor before taking any nutritional supplements.

     Q. When viral pneumonia goes around like these days, I get concerned at the slightest indication of breathing difficulties.

     A. Breathing difficulty can be caused not only by pneumonia, but also by chronic lung disease, heart failure, angina, and other heart diseases. In other words, breathing issues may be a symptom related to a problem with the heart, not the lungs. You will find it helpful to know the causes of breathing difficulties and a list of self-diagnostic questions.
