Overview

Despite the dull theme of atmospheric pollution, this book features a friendly story with heartwarming illustrations.

Book Intro

The scary story of fine dust told by "Naknaki"

Bom's family started to enjoy the warmth of spring with their windows fully opened, welcoming in the clean air of spring. However, the sky is murky and the floor that had been cleaned to shine got dull with yellow and fine dust.

Mother returns home from her business trip to Mongolia and brings Bom a camel doll. It's special camel who claims to have lived more than 100 years in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. Called Naknaki, it soon becomes friends with Bom. Naknaki is very knowledgeable about the desert climate as well as yellow dust and fine dust, and appears in front of Hangyeoul, Yeoreum and their daughter Bom, trying to convince them to avoid activities that generate fine dust and ultra fine dust and teaching them how to properly clean and avoid fine dust.

Will Earth ever be able to recreate a clean spring? This book teaches ways to reduce fine dust and to purify the air with the camel from Gobi Desert in Mongolia, Naknaki.

The Season family, Hangyeoul (father, winter in Korean), Yeoreum (mother, summer in Korean) and their daughter Bom (spring in Korean), and the camel doll Naknaki, who claims to have lived in Gobi Desert for more than 100 years, tell a cute, heartwarming story. Father Hangyeoul is a poet. He is emotional but lacks touch with reality, and is also in charge of the household chores. Mother Yeoreum may be a poor housekeeper, but she is a professional woman regarded highly in society. Bom's family meets Naknaki and goes through various episodes. Naknaki is a self-proclaimed "special camel" who is a bit over-confident in himself, but his knowledge about atmospheric pollution is undoubtedly high. Whenever Bom's family has a question about yellow dust, fine dust and atmospheric pollution, Naknaki appears out of nowhere with his overwhelmingly confident attitude and provides them with a variety of information and ways to reduce dust generation.
