(English) Like a Roughneck Princess
Frequently, like in the fairy tales Snow White and Cinderella, princes are portrayed as brave and adventurous while princesses are dependent, waiting for the prince on the white horse to come. These fairy tales are key examples of how children form incorrect prejudices about gender roles. This book is a children's book that talks about being yourself and being equal, free from prejudice. The princess in this story throws away her cumbersome dress and bravely saves the prince. The prince, who is bad at hunting, discovers that he is good at sewing, cooking and gardening after meeting the princess. Eventually, they get married and the princess acts as the king, governing the country, while the prince becomes her husband. The writer shows the main characters doing what they like and are good at, without gender prejudice, in order to enhance gender equality for the readers. Goh Jungsoon, the illustrator, helped to emphasize the main theme of the book by drawing the prince and princess as ordinary, without any fancy appearances.

古典童話の王子は勇敢で進取的で、王女はそんな王子を待つ依存的な姿で描かれることが多かった。このような童話は、性役割に対する誤った固定観念を植え付けた代表的なケースである。この作品はこのような偏見から脱却し、平等な条件で自分らしさを語ります。この本の王女はドレスを脱いで王子を救うたくましい人物として登場する。狩りが苦手だった王子は、王女と出会って初めて裁縫、料理などの才能を発見する。 そして国を治める王は王女が担当し、王子は王の夫になる。作家は読者に正しい男女平等意識を植え付けようと、性に対する固定観念を持たず、自分が好きで得意なことを選択する人物を描い。

Hoàng tử trong truyện cổ tích cổ điển thường dũng cảm và dám nghĩ dám làm, còn công chúa thì luôn được khắc họa là người trông ngóng và dựa dẫm vào hoàng tử. Những truyện cổ tích như vậy là ví dụ tiêu biểu của việc gieo vào đầu trẻ những quan niệm sai lầm về vai trò của từng giới tính. Tác phẩm này là câu chuyện phá vỡ định kiến, thể hiện một cái tôi trong điều kiện bình đẳng. Ở đây, công chúa là một nhân vật quật cường, nàng cởi bỏ chiếc váy dài lộng lẫy và cứu lấy hoàng tử. Hoàng từ không có tố chất trong việc săn bắn, sau khi gặp công chúa thì phát hiện ra mình có tài khâu vá thêu thùa và nấu nướng, v.v. Người trị vì quốc gia là công chúa còn hoảng tử thì trở thành chồng của bậc đế vương. Bằng việc xây dựng nhân vật phá vỡ công thức cũ, tác giả giúp người đọc đánh thức ý thức đúng đắn về bình đẳng giới, tự tin làm nhữn việc mình thật sự thích và giỏi.

Lee Geum Yi
(English) Lee debuted as a writer when her work in children’s literature was selected for the 1984 Sebut Literary Award. She is committed to writing stories that breathe warmth and light into the shadowed hearts of children. Her books include the children’s literary titles, Like a Wild Princess, One Night, You Are a Twilight Lily Also, the Bamti Village series, as well as the young adult fiction May I Go There?, Aloha, My Mothers, Eugene and Eugene, and Youth Epitaph. In 2020 she was selected as the Korean candidate for the Hans Christian Andersen Award, known widely as the Nobel prize in children’s literature.
(Japanese) 児童青少年文学作家。1990年代から2000年代にに続いた韓国児童文学の爆発的な成長と共に青少年文学の道を切り開く作品数十種を発表し、読者や評論家たちの心を魅了してきた。 特に、幼い読者からの要望で続々と続編が生まれた童話『バンティ村』3部作、長編童話『君もチョウセンカサユリだ』、本格的な青少年文学の出発点となった『ユジンとユジン』などが長年愛されている。これまでソチョン児童文学賞、ユン・ソクジュン文学賞、バン・ジョンファン文学賞などを受賞し、2020、2024年のハンス・クリスチャン・アンデルセン賞の韓国候補に公式指名された。
(Indonesian) Seorang penulis sastra untuk anak-anak dan remaja. Ia telah memikat hati para pembaca dan kritikus dengan menerbitkan banyak karya sastra yang mengakibatkan pertumbuhan pesat sastra anak-anak Korea, serta kelahiran dan perkembangan sastra remaja pada tahun 1990-an dan 2000-an. Trilogi dongeng "Desa Bamti," yang dibuat sekuel atas permintaan para pembaca anak, dongeng bersambung 『Kau pun Bunga Lili』, dan 『Yujin & Yujin』 yang telah menjadi titik utuh permulaan sastra remaja, pada khususnya selalu dicintai oleh anak-anak, para remaja, dan orang dewasa. Jung-soon Go
(English) Born in Seoul, Jung-soon Go spent her childhood around the Sorae port, Incheon. She lived in a room at the back of a game arcade. She draws the things that she cannot describe with words and writes about other things that are hard to express in a drawing. Goh’s works include Guard Up, A Wire Elephant, The Most Wonderful Day, Cotton Pants of Mr. Cotton, Super Cats, Jeombogi, Kkamjeongi and a collection of prose, I'm Fine.
(Russian) Писатель и художник Ко Чонсун родилась в Сеуле и провела детство в Инчхоне в подсобке игрового зала. Она рисует то, о чём невозможно написать, и пишет о том, что невозможно нарисовать. Она является автором иллюстрированных книг «Прекрасный день», «Дядя ватные штаны», «Кошка из магазина», «Пятныш и Черныш», «Проволочный слон» и сборника прозы «Всё в порядке».
(Japanese) 人が生きるために必要なものを考え、絵本を作る作家。これまで絵と文を書いた絵本に『玉春糖』、『お母さんなんで来ない』、『お父さんは私が守ってあげるよ』、『最高の素敵な日』、『ジョンボクとカムジョン』があり、絵本作家としての人生を収めた散文集がある。エッセイ、小説、漫画と、その領域を広げている。
