Do Dam's father works at a fish market. Kim Taeyoung's father runs a sauna. Oh Sangmin's father is a pediatrician. The three kids are unhappy with their fathers. Especially, they dislike the smell that comes from their fathers: the fishy smell of the fish market, the smell of soap from the sauna, and the smell of disinfectant from the hospital. One day, they play a game of soccer with their fathers. They have a lot of fun and see new sides of their fathers. The kids start opening up their hearts. After playing together for just one day, the distance between the kids and their fathers becomes much smaller.
At first glance, the children seem displeased with the job or the smell of their father. In fact, they seem to be embarrassed by their fathers, and their blunt manners suggest they hate their fathers. However, looking closely at the story, it becomes clear how they feel deep down. They only wish to get closer to their fathers and spend more time with them. All three fathers are so busy with work that they don't spend enough time with their sons.
Parents are always concerned with how they appear in the eyes of their children. They worry that their children may get hurt because of their jobs. But what matters is not visible on the outside. What children truly wish for is time with their parents, just like Dam, Taeyoung, and Sangmin in My Dad's Smell.
