Overview

An ordinary 18-year-old boy overcomes the sudden death of his brother and takes a step forward in his new life by participating in a theater play.

Book Intro

Dongjun is a positive and bright high school student who has a smart older brother. He is upset because his friend Changjae, a friend he often hung out with in a drama club, has left home. In the midst of all this, he also receives the bad news that his brother has passed away, leaving his entire family devastated. Dongjun thus takes over the main role in lieu of his best friend and tries his best to overcome the sadness of losing his older brother. One day, Dongjun happens to learn the secrets behind his older brother's death through a tutor named Jangguen. His brother was able to get into one of the best universities even though he didn't get the best grades because his mom asked the tutor to take the test on his behalf. That made his older brother feel so guilty that he ended up taking his own life. Dongjun expresses his anger toward his mom, but his mom goes beyond just blaming herself: She gives up her own life. Yeseul, an older friend of Dongjun, gives him strength in his troubling time and his best friend eventually comes back to school after finding his own dream. They put on a play that is inspired by the story of the springbok, which represents those who have forgotten the important things in their lives and just keep on moving forward. After successfully finishing the play, the boy grows up and realizes that the present should not be filled with sadness but instead with hope, and he calls the name of his older brother.
