This story became popular after it was posted on the online bookstore Interpark. This is a new book from Kim Nam-joong, the author who received the Good Children's Book award from Changbi for his book A Town Next to the Railroad Tracks and the This Year's Art award in 2006 for his collection of children's stories Pride. On a hot summer, a boy and some others leave on a 1,100-km bicycle trip that will last them 11 nights and 12 days. The stories of these travelers are shown as a road trip movie. The speedy narrative and funny episodes within this book will draw readers in and provide them with energy and passion. The best part of this book is that it is so enthralling that one could finish the whole book without putting it down. A boy escapes from his family, which is slowly breaking down, and tries to bring his parents on a bicycle trip. This adventurous plan will leave an impression on readers. Kim Namjung
Kim Namjung received the grand prize at the Chanbi Good Children's Book Awards in 2004 for his story The Town Next to the Railroad, the Art of the Year Award in 2006 for Pride, and the first Changwon Children's Literary Award in 2011 for Run like the Wind. Author Kim has been recongnized as leading the new generation of Korean Children's Literature with his profound works based on strong consciousness of his subjects. Major works created by Kim Namjung include In the Closet of a Small House on a Mountain, The Master of Fight, A Punky Bicycle Trip, Run like the Wind, and The Taste of Fear.
Heo Tae-joon
Heo Tae-joon was born in Seosan in the South Chungcheong province in 1971 and graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Oriental Painting. Heo previously worked in the animation creators' group Odolddogi and participated in animation work on Princess Bari, directed by Jang Seonwoo. Books with illustrations done by He Tae-joon include The Delicious Music Study, Goseonji, the Soul of Goguryeo, Joohee, and The Fox Sisters.
