The Little Chick Bbedaegi is a work by Kwon Jeongsaeng that well represents his thoughts on life. Through the heartwarming life of the black chick Bbedaegi, who came into Sunjin's family, readers can contemplate the meaning of life as well as peace. Artist Kim Hwan-young left his city and moved to a rural area to concentrate on this book for 12 years, which clearly shows how dedicated he was to this particular work.

Kwon Jeong-saeng
(Russian) Детский писатель Квон Чонсэн (1937-2007, настоящее имя Квон Кёнсу) родился в Токио и перебрался в Корею сразу после её освобождения от колониальной зависимости. Он жил в небольшом глиняном доме в уезде Андон провинции Северная Кёнсан и работал звонарём в деревенской церкви. Он прожил жизнь в бедности и болезни и писал о природе, жизни и красоте слабых и обречённых на тяготы и страдания. Писатель оставил после себя более 150 романов и коротких рассказов и более 100 детских стихотворений и песен.
(English) Kwon Jung-saeng (M) was born in Tokyo, but returned to Korea immediately after liberation from Japanese colonial rule (1945). Working as a bell ringer in a small village, he made his debut as a children's story writer in an annual literary competition. Knowing illness and poverty throughout his life, Kwon wrote beautifully about the beauty of nature, life, and those who suffered because of their fragility.
Kim Hwan-young
Kim Hwanyoung was born in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, in 1959, grew up in Seoul, and currently lives in a rural area. Kim studied Western Painting at Hongik University and has worked on the children's books Paper Rice, The Hen who Dreamed She Could Fly,and The Children who Swallowed the Sun,thepicture books Dad Catches Butterflies, Cornand Sliced Sweet Potato,and the children's comics A Ball Kicked by a Dwarf. He also published the collection of children's poems, Black Flower.
