Overview

This is the story of Pung, Ara and the goat fighting against the black grass threatening humans and saving the earth.

Book Intro

A fun sci-fi children's story has been published after a long time. That story is The Man-Eating Grass by Choi Yeonghi, a writer of children's literature. She has been granted famous national awards for children's literature ranging from young adult literature to children's stories. To the extent of being referred to as a popular writer among the major writers of children's stories, Choi possesses the excellent imagination and skills to develop stories. Her influence on science fiction, an untapped area in the domestic literary world, is especially remarkable, and her history proves her exceptionality. She was awarded the Hannakwon Science Fiction Award for Hi Beta and the Excellence Prize at the 2016 SF Awards.

This time, Choi presents fun stories to elementary students. When first heard, the title The Man-Eating Grass reminds us of Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Gyarados, and Oddish from Pokémon. However, in fact, the grass is a cruel and carnivorous plant that picks and eats only humans.

Agricola, an alien in the shape of a translucent ball but with high intelligence, singles out humans as the main culprit of environmental pollution. After decades of research, they develop black grass and disseminate it throughout the earth. This grass carries high reproduction rates and strong vitality, and it grows exponentionally over just a few days. The plants eat humans who touch them by spreading their tentacles in a flash. It's the worst crisis in the history of the planet. Who can save the earth?
